Our Story

Founded in August 2024, Botyard Intelligence is a startup focused on dexterous hands and dexterous manipulation. Co-founded by former Alibaba executives and leading robotics professors, its core team combines complementary strengths in commercialization and technology research and development. High-degree-of-freedom dexterous hands have long posed a challenge for the industry. Botyard Intelligence developed Gaoshan S1, the world’s first high-DOF dexterous hand with a predominantly tendon-driven hybrid actuation system. Its fully in-house force-controlled tendon-drive module resolves the challenge of tendon creep. Botyard Intelligence has built a full-stack technology platform spanning hardware, systems, data and applications. By combining classical control, deep reinforcement learning and vision-language-action (VLA) models, it has created a distinctive model architecture and embedded a cerebellar model for dexterous manipulation into the actuation layer. This addresses the challenges of training and inference for high-DOF dexterous manipulation. Together with Botyard’s in-house hardware, it enables dexterous manipulation to reach new heights.
